Digital Media Center Pvt Ltd (DMC) was incorporated in 2006 for the purpose of leveraging the potential IT market space in Maldives with the intent of eventually competing in the world-wide arena. DMC's core business is software and at the time of incorporation it held the intellectual property rights to the leading POS solution in Maldives. DMC believes in the philosophy of focused growth which it will ensure by concentrating mainly on computer products and services. This said, DMC hefts the backing of Maldives' leading investors and will use this potential to act as a holdings firm for projects outside its scope. DMC sets itself apart from its competitors by adopting the cause of 'information technology innovation and excellence in Maldives.' At present, Maldives' software business distinctly lacks quality and creativity due to the failure to actively develop these sentiments. DMC will invest in producing world-class quality standards, such as CMMI, in both its own business process and those of its partners. Adoption of CMMI will not only increase the quality of DMC's products but also streamline its processes resulting in better margins and the potential to compete on price terms.
